France-based Claranor has recently developed, in collaboration with French blow molding machine manufacturer 1Blow, a revolutionary new preform sterilization system that combines the effects of heating and pulsed light to sterilize all interior and exterior surfaces of the preform, meeting ultra-clean and ESL requirements without the use of chemical sterilant. The system has a capacity of 100,000 preforms per hour.
Pulsed Light Sterilization technology enables extremely rapid surface sterilization without chemical sterilants and it offers the additional benefits of low energy consumption, operating costs and capex. Claranor introduced this technology to the beverage and dairy industries in 2010 and has since installed more than 200 systems globally for cap sterilization on PET bottle lines and for thermoformed cup sterilization on linear filling lines.
Anthony Hereng, Sales Manager for Claranor, will present details of this exciting new preform sterilization system for the first time at an Asian packaging conference at Aseptipak Asia 2016, Global Forum on Aseptic/ESL Processing, Filling and Packaging. The conference will take place 30 November – 1 December in Bangkok.
His presentation will include a detailed description of the technology, extensive sterilization data from field trails and total cost of ownership (TCO) data compared to chemical sterilization systems.
